It has been a good summer for us as a youth group. I am very proud of you all. Below is a list of some activities coming up in August.
- August 4 - Youth Day at Magic Springs
- August 6 - Youth Led Bible Study (TBA)
- August 11 - Associated Youth Revival
- August 13 - Youth Led Bible Study (TBA)
- August 18 - Back to School Bash at Evani's
- August 20 - First Day Of School/Youth Led Bible Stufy (TBA)
Camp was a great time of connecting with GOD. I pray that you will continue on with what GOD revealed to you during that week, by having a quiet time with GOD each day
A quiet time is a time of personal connection with GOD. Here are some suggestions for a successful quiet time:
- Find a place where you can be alone with GOD without any distractions.
- Try to meet in the same place at the same time every day.
- Spend some time thanking GOD for everything in your life.
- Spend some time confessing and repenting from sin.
- Spend some time recalling how great GOD is to you.
- You can use a devotional book to guide your study time, but I want to encourage you to read whatever scripture is given to you directly from your Bible.
- Commit to being obedient to what GOD says.
- Remember that talking with GOD is more than just talking, it is also a time of listening.
- Get a CD player and worship songs and worship.
- Get a notebook and journal the things you discuss with GOD, and how HE answers your prayers.
These are just suggestions, make your time with GOD personal between you and GOD. In the beginning it is difficult to keep your mind focused. Don't give up, it will get better soon. I am confident that GOD will show you great things.
