Season's Greetings to everyone. I hope that this holiday season is a time of worship and wonder of the fact that GOD sent HIS only SON to be a sacrfice for our sins, and that JESUS willingly humbled HIMSELF, Even to the point of death on the cross for you and me.
On another note, I have received some disturbing emails lately. I thought I would alert you as parents to the mounting darkness that has become our world.
The first email was about the upcoming movie, "The Golden Compass." It is a movie from a series of books written by an atheist that admittedly wants to rid the world of GOD and has openly said that his foolish intention is to do that very thing. The email said that this movie is watered down so that it will be less offensive. Mind you, they are targeting our children with this anti-GOD propaganda.
The second email was "the blaspheme challenge," a website that encourages teens to record themselves blaspheming the HOLY SPIRIT and send it to the website for a free DVD.
To be quite honest, I am not an alarmist. I am not even really a boycot kind of guy. I don't get politically charged or passionate about such things. I get passionate mainly about sharing the gospel with people and eqipping students to reach the fullness of a life in Christ. So, the intent of my sharing these emails with you, has more to do with alerting you as parents to the fact that in this world we are experiencing blatant mockery of GOD, and we should as parents be even more determined to not only protect our children from these kinds of things, but to be proactive in teaching them to know GOD personally and to follow HIM in faith and obedience.
It is my prayer that each of us as parents and as Christians be as JESUS says in Matthew 10:16, "I am sending you out like sheep among wolves. Therefore be as shrewd as snakes and as innocent as doves."
