Can you hear me now? Can you hear me now? This is a well known Verizon commercial advertising the fact that their cell phone coverage is everywhere. In the last couple of weeks during our youth discipleship hour, we have been learning about how GOD speaks to us.
We have learned that GOD does speak to HIS people everywhere.That HE speaks in many different ways, HE speaks through dreams, circumstances, other people, even donkeys, and angels. We also discovered that GOD speaks to us through HIS Word, and through the work of the HOLY SPIRIT. We discussed that it really didn't matter what way GOD spoke, because certain things were always sure when HE did.
We also discovered the difficult task of the one who was given the message. We saw that the obstacles were that there is no way of proving that GOD said it.That because GOD's Ways are not our ways, GOD will ask us to do some pretty amazing things that people are often skeptical about.
Which led to the discussion that the real problem with hearing GOD is not HIS silence or HIS lack of faithfulness as we often accuse HIM of shorting us, but rather our willingness to obey and follow through with what GOD says to us.
I am convinced that much is suffering in the KINGDOM's Work not because GOD has gone silent, buty rather that we, HIS people, have become a people who are seeing and hearing but never seeing or hearing. The end of that passage is that if we did we would repent and turn again to GOD and be forgiven. The loudest message GOD has given to us and this lost world is found in the life and words of JESUS CHRIST.
The scripture tells us that in Hebrews 1:1-3.
In the past GOD spoke to our forefathers through the prophets at many times and in various ways, but in these last days HE has spoken to us by his Son, whom he appointed heir of all things and through whom he made the universe. The Son is the radience of God's glory and the exact represntation of his being, sustaining all things by his powerful word. After he had provided purification for sins, he sat down at the right hand of the Majesty in heaven.
JESUS is the final WORD for our lives. Nothing more needs to be said. Let me leave you with a message JESUS has given to us.
: "It is done. I am the Alpha and the Omega, the Beginning and the End. To him who is thirsty, I will give to drink without cost from the spring of the water of life. He who overcomes will inherit all this, and I will be his God and he will be my son. But the cowardly, the unbelieving, the vile, the murderers, the sexually immoral, those who practice magic arts, the idolaters, and all liars--their place will be in the fiery lake of burning sulfer. This is the second death." --JESUS
